Charge-Up Operator – Underground Mining | Cowal Gold Mine (NSW)

We are currently seeking experienced Charge-Up Operators to join a major underground production and development project at Cowal Gold Mine (West Wyalong, NSW).

This is a long-term, 5-year contract opportunity offering stability, great conditions, and the chance to be part of a high-performing underground team.

The Role

Working on a 2/2 FIFO roster, you will be responsible for safe and efficient explosives handling and charging activities across underground development and production headings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out charging of development and production rounds in line with mine plans
  • Safely handle, transport, and store explosives in accordance with site and legislative requirements
  • Conduct pre- and post-charge inspections to ensure compliance and safety
  • Work closely with Supervisors, Jumbo Operators, and Underground crews
  • Maintain accurate blast records and documentation
  • Identify and report hazards, risks, and non-compliance issues
  • Contribute to a strong safety-first culture underground
Requirements

  • Current UHL (Underground Hard Rock Licence)
  • Current BUEL (NSW Shotfirer Ticket) – Essential
  • Proven experience as a Charge-Up Operator in underground mining
  • Strong understanding of production and development charging practices
  • Commitment to safety, teamwork, and high performance
